According to the data updated by the ministry at eight o’clock on Sunday morning, in the last 24 hours, 92,000 people in the country were free from coronavirus infection, while about 86,000 new cases were reported during this period.

The ministry underlined, “With the increase in the number of recoveries, the recovery rate of covid-19 patients in the country has reached 82.46 percent.”

The Ministry said that 21 states and union territories have more number of recovered patients than new cases.

The ministry said that 76 percent of the total patients recovering in the last 24 hours are from 10 states and union territories – Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and West Bengal.

The ministry said that Maharashtra has topped the list of patients being recovered, where alone more than 23 thousand patients have been cured. It is followed by Andhra Pradesh where more than 9,000 patients have recovered.

The number of recovered patients is more in India than in new cases. There is a difference of about 40 lakhs (39,85,225) between under-treated patients and patients who are now infection free.

“The number of under-treated patients in the country has remained below 10 lakh for several consecutive days,” the ministry said. The total number of underprivileged patients is about 15.96 percent. “

The ministry said that 1,124 people died due to infection in the last 24 hours, of which 84 percent died in 10 states and union territories – Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi. And Chhattisgarh.
