Mohammed Shami in connection with the case of domestic violence filed by his wife Hasin Jahan, Alipore court in West Bengal issued arrest warrant ordering him to surrender within 15 days of returning to the country after West Indies tour.
Shami was formally charged with domestic violence and sexual harassment by the Kolkata police earlier this year in March. The charge sheet was filed after the one year of filing the complaint. The court also issued an arrest warrant against the Shami’s brother, Hasid Ahmed, in the same case.
Hasin Jahan, the cricketer’s wife, had made startling revelations last year on social media about her husband’s infidelity and accused him and his family members of domestic abuse. She had also posted screenshots of the pacer’s alleged chats with multiple women.
Talking with the media his wife told “I’m grateful to the judicial system. I have been fighting for justice for more than a year now. You all know, Shami thinks that he is all too powerful, that he is a big cricketer “
Presently Shami is in the West Indies Tour completed a landmark with the dismissal of Cornwall as he became the third-quickest Indian fast bowler to pick up 150 Test wickets.
