Ravishankar Jayadritha Shastri is an Indian cricket head Coach, previous reporter, cricketer and current mentor of the Indian national cricket Team. he played for the India national cricket team somewhere in the range of 1981 and 1992 in the both Tests and ODIs. He Started His profession as a left arm turn bowler, he later changed into a batting all-rounder.

Ravi Shastri has been reappointed as the head coach of the senior men’s Indian team and will remain in charge until the T20 World Cup of 2021 to be played in India. Ravi shastri played 80 test matches and 150 One day matches. he played first match against New Zealand at Basin Reserve, Feb 21, 1981 and he debut ODI against England at Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium, Nov 25, 1981. he played his Last Cricket match against South Africa at St George’s Park, Dec 26, 1992.
Ravi Shastri is of Mangalorean descent, was born in Bombay and studied at Don Bosco High School, Matunga. On July 2017 Shastri, the former team director, was appointed as Head Coach for the national side by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar. The contract has him getting paid Rs.8 crore per year. Rs.1.5 Crore more than his predecessor Anil Kumble . As the World cup 2019 was in progress, on 13 June, the BCCI announced an extension of Shastri’s contract by 45 days after the tournament. On 16 August 2019, he was re-appointed as the head coach of the senior men’s Indian team, with his new contract extending up to the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup in India.
